YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED to a social gathering of the WHS Class of 1966 on Wednesday, September 18, 11:30 a.m., at Taste of Philly Restaurant located in the Hancock Shopping Center at 2750 South Academy Blvd. (near Hancock and Academy) in Colorado Springs.

Just to give each other a hug or a hard time are the words that our classmate Bruce McAlexander used to describe the informal gathering“It has been three years since our 50-year reunion,” notes our classmate Ron Petty, who recently suggested that it might be time to begin thinking about having a 55-year reunion.

Our events (luncheons, reunions, etc.) are always open to people from all WHS classes of the 1960s, so please know that you are welcome even if you did not graduate with us.

So that the restaurant can make advance plans to put all attendees together, please RSVP no later than Sunday, September 15, via email to:

At this time 60 years ago, many of our classmates were getting ready to start our new school year at North Security Elementary School. At this time 50 years ago, some of our classmates had just completed the third year of college. Some of our classmates were in their third year of marriage or making wedding plans. Some of our classmates were on the battle fields due to the U.S. war in Vietnam. Some of our classmates were still trying to figure out what they wanted to do with their respective lives.

There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.”  Nelson Mandelain his autobiography Long Walk to Freedom.
